 Captain Hagerty is currently working on government vessels as an Unlimited Shipmaster. Captain Hagerty holds a Master of Science in International Transportation from SUNY Maritime College in 2012 and an Elite Master's in Cognitive Semiotics (Decision-making) from Aarhus University in Denmark in 2009. She has a Bachelor's from Earlham College in International Relations and French & Spanish. She is fluent in French, Danish, Spanish and Italian. She sits on several boards including the Maritime Policy Committee for Propeller Club, International Federation of Shipmasters Association (IFSMA) and is currently Vice President of International Relations for the Council of American Master Mariners. She has attended IMO MEPC, Tradewinds, SeaTrade and WISTA conferences. She is a regular public speaker in Copenhagen, Dubai, London, and Aspen on topics ranging from Cyber Security, Women in Maritime, Maritime Leadership, Training, Safety at Sea, Crewing, Covid and Seafarer wellbeing.
